Jahn's art classes will be working on our PIECE hallway signs. YEA. If you see her in the hall be sure to give her a huge thanks!
Take a gander at the new Watkins Middle School Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php? let me know your thoughts, feedback, etc.
Adding the student-signed puzzle pieces to the hallway PIECE signs Advocacy activity is on hold and hopefully will take place next week. Reminder: if you run across some puzzles at Goodwill or around your house (they don't have to make a true puzzle completion... spare parts are great) bring them in.

-Jose kicked off our meeting by saying a few words about the direction of the team- he underscored
the importance of our mission, and talked about creating a visible short-term goal.
-Ginger and Katrina shared that the VIPS night will be changing this year to a possible breakfast. Since VIPS
are part of our "community" this area can be something our team takes part in. We need to think of ideas for
student involvement (servers) and entertainment.
-We will be needing to vote on a PIECE Logo soon. There will be 4-5 designs to choose from. We discussed including
students and the community in the selection. This involves getting the logos in an electronic format that can go onto the
school website. Vicki Parmely suggested having a form that community members can come in and pick up, even if
they do not have kids at WMS.
C2 SUB GROUPS:
VIPS Breakfast (Himmatramka)
Mission Statement Campaign
Community Visibility
Hallway PIECE Campaign
Puzzle PIECE Wearables (Panettire)
PIECE Logo (Kids vote through Advocacy)

-Talked about how to introduce PIECE logo to student body. Julie and PJ felt that students may not
understand vocabulary in the Mission Statement enough to connect with PIECE logo. We are still targeting the
week of May 7th for our Hallway PIECE Campaign. Between now and then, we need to come up with a plan
for introducing it to the students.
-One idea was to target our 7th graders, who will be the school leaders next year.
